The Bandit aka The Black Cat

Serialized in the Empire News in England as The Black Cat starting in May 1929. First hardcover publishing in England was by Ward Lock in 1929, as The Bandit; in the U.S.A. was by The Crime Club in 1930. This was Leslie’s fourth novel (following on from Meet the Tiger) in 1929. In this story, Ramon Francisco de Castilla Y Espronceda Manrique was the strangely-named hero.
